Manage pregnancy and postpartum emotional challenges including baby blues and PPD symptoms to help reduce the risk of depression and keep yourself and your baby mentally and emotionally strong.
This is a workshop for healing. You do not need to be ashamed of depression or sadness. Acknowledgement and treatment will help you regain control and enjoy your life and family. After the birth of a baby, a new mom's body goes through immense hormonal changes, sleep deprivation, and a changing relationship with her spouse as well as the introduction of her child face to face.
This can be overwhelming and may lead to baby blues, postpartum depression, or other sadness/mental health issues. This workshop is intended to address the signs and symptoms of motherhood related mental health issues and to help those who are experiencing sadness through education and support.
Depression or sadness after delivery is more common than many people realize. Over 50 percent of women who give birth experience a form of depression in some degree. Recognizing, acknowledging and taking action this sadness is vital to the wellness and strong and healthy future of the entire family. This workshop is meant as a support platform to educate and assist new moms who experience this sadness.
The requirements are to dedicate yourself to healing - give the workshop or suggested activities at least one hour a day. You do not have to do everything suggested, but you should at least try to complete the activities and take action that you are heading on a path of healing, strength and growth.
This workshop requires honesty, dedication, trust and respect for yourself.
It is also highly encouraged that you find a person nearby to support you (spouse, neighbor, friend, etc.) Take time for you, eat right, and be sure to get rest.
Approximately one percent of women will experience postpartum psychosis; depression with psychotic tendencies. Women who had experienced or been diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia prior to pregnancy are at a higher risk of this type of postpartum depression.
