This course is for all women in any stage of her life cycle. We delve into many aspects of reclaiming our menstruation as sacred. In these times we are being called as women to step into our power, to reclaim our sacredness as women who bleed without dying, and to teach the next generation to honor menstruation, our moon time. Through deep understanding of our cycle, self care through herbs, nutrition and exercise, ceremony and alternative ways to catch our blood we bring our consciousness to the beauty and power of our menstruation. Introduction to the course previewing lessons 1-4
Lesson 1: Discover how a woman’s power lies in her menstruation. Learn about the hormonal cycle, how to cycle with the moon, and the beauty in sharing our menarche stories.
Lesson 2: Learn about your choices in alternative menstrual gear and how to make your own moon pads. Discover the environmental impact of disposable gear and the as well as the spiritual significance of allowing your menstrual blood to flow.
Lesson 3: Explore how to use nutrition, herbs and exercise to encourage a healthy and enjoyable menstruation. We will also discuss yoga poses and Maya Abdominal Massage.
Lesson 4: Create a moon alter, discover ancient menstrual ritual, create artwork and poetry, and access your dreamtime.
Course goals: To learn about the sacredness of menstruation through; raising awareness about our hormonal cycle, sharing our stories, learning about alternative menstrual gear, discovering how nutrition, herbs and exercise directly affect our menstrual experience, creating alters and ritual, creating art and poetry, and examining our dreamtime.
About the Mentor:
Astrid Grove LM, CPM is a homebirth midwife, wise woman herbalist, and certified practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage. Her life’s passion is to create sacred space for healing to occur in on-on-one sessions and also with groups. She travels extensively around the world sharing the teachings of the Wise Woman Way. She currently resides in the mountains of Santa Cruz, California.
